Talking about Human Relationships: Part One

Accept a Person as a Whole, not in Parts
‘To err is human and forgive divine.'
We have been listening to people reading or speaking about this old saying since the days of our childhood.
But in spite of that we are not ready to forgive others’ mistakes. Rather some of us may be waiting for others to commit mistakes so that we may have a chance to condemn or laugh at them.
On the other hand, when we find ourselves in the same situation, we get easily flared up and expect others to behave themselves in that situation.
It means that we have double standards. We do not want the same type of rough behaviour that we have showed to others in our near past. We forget easily or we do not want to reflect back to our past behaviour.
If we place ourselves in the same situation as the other person is at present, a good change may take place in our beings.
We should forgive others believing the old proverb that ‘to err is human and forgive divine.’
Another fact I would like to mention here is that when we make any type of relationship with others, first we must become doubly sure if the person with whom we wish to go ahead in relationship is compatible to us or not.
Keep in mind that the person is a human being, not any divine entity, who is not prone to commit errors. He/she can commit mistakes in life as you also do. Keep space in your mind for this and then go ahead with relationship.
Nurture your relationship with mutual understanding and forgiveness. Be tolerant to each other’s faults and try not to repeat the mistake once committed.

After that, see how the plant of your relationship grows up in a healthy and tall tree, blessing you with its fruits for the whole life.
